At a loss for words
Earlier this week, I read a great blog entry from Christine Kane on a better way to start your year. The idea is simple - instead of making a new year's resolution based on doing (or not doing) some particular thing, you have more success focusing on the "be" level of your life. You should click the link; she explains it much better than I could. She has a great list of possible words to use as "touchstones" for the new year. After much deliberation over several words, I chose Balance as my word for 2008. Just like Christine said, I could think of all kinds of words that were close to this one for me or branched out from it, but Balance seemed the best word for me.
I'll keep you posted on how it works out for me, but I'm optimistic. Then again, I've never been short on optimism.
