So I start to write an entry and spend an hour browsing around and reading other people's entries. Then I'm tired and don't feel like writing anything. So we'll see how this goes. My uncle's first wife died last night. Judy had lung cancer has been fighting it for a while, but couldn't hold out any longer. I'm trying to convince my parents that they both need to go down for the wake and the funeral despite all of the stuff they have going on. I may be cat sitting for several days while they are gone.

There is a family reunion this Sunday as well. They were hoping Judy could stay alive until then so they could see her one last time. But they still want to see the rest of the family.

I came home last night from a business dinner to find my father in my back yard with a sheepish grin on his face. The first thing he told me was "well .... I didn't ask first, but I didn't think you'd mind." He tilled a patch of my yard and is hoping to plant tomatoes that are growing out of their pots in the next few days. Oh and he diagnosed what's wrong with my back porch light. So I should have fresh tomatoes and light in my backyard again soon.

The hooting noise that my car makes has gotten louder and louder. My dealership is going to fix it on Monday. We shall see how long that takes. I'm just tired of having my car turn heads for all the wrong reasons when it drives by hooting away.

I did buy that new serger I was wanting. It does rock. I've sewn linen and trigger on it and didn't have to change a single dial. And threading it takes like 30 seconds. So very cool. I've got Rich's gamboissed cuisses cut out and the quilting cut out as well. I just need to quilt and construct. The trial pair is out of trigger while we check the fit and pattern. Then the real deal will be out of canvas. I didn't think I'd be excited about making armor.

Hopefully my next post will be more clever. But my eyes are closing at the moment ...
