the shiny guy always worries

I hate traveling while I'm still sick. I feel like I'm spending all day trying to rally for meetings and then I don't have the energy to do my "other" work once I get to the hotel. Add to that my not sleeping well and I've been a real joy to be around lately. I finished two books this week which must be a new record for me. I read Dan Kennedy's Rock On: an Office Power Ballad just before we left and that had a lack-luster ending but was very funny all the same. He had a great way of describing corporate life and it made me feel like my office environment is a little less crazy in comparison.
And on the flights home today I started and finished Steve Martin's Born Standing Up. I loved reading about where some of his famous stand up lines came from that I've memorized as a kid and get some perspective on his life on the road. I recommend both books whole-heartedly.
I think I'm going to make the change to a more "serious" book and read Barack Obama's Audacity of Hope. I've had it on my bookshelf for months and now is as good a time as any to read it. I'll let you know how that goes.
Right now it's late and I'm pretty cranky so I think I'll just snuggle up with the kitties and try to get some sleep. Tomorrow has long day written all over it.
Would you believe I'm still sick?! I'm so tired of this. I'm not at Death's door, but I've been cruising Death's neighborhood for two weeks now. But the highlight this evening was our wine with dinner. We had a very tasty pinot noir with the same name as our dog. And let me tell you, Sarah makes a fine pinot.
I took a picture of our wine bottle and brought the wine corks home. I also took the note pad from the table because I'm a pack rat and have a weakness for stationary stationery.
