Oct 22 - Ian is 13 as of 6:14 am. We’re watching “We Bare Bears” (at my suggestion) on a Saturday morning with his dog.

As he dropped trail mix in his lap, I reminded him that raisins and chocolate are not good for dogs.

“Luckily, your dogs are 100 lb each so it likely won’t hurt them. But one day you will have a romantic partner who owns a chihuahua and you will kill their dog. AFTER spending $1000 you can’t afford to try to save the dog. If you can just keep the trail mix in the bowl or your mouth and not make a mess, it can avoid a lot of heartache in your life.”

Oct 26 - New inline skates who dis?

Oct 27 - Ian is so close to catching Shrop! 5’ 9.5” for Ian and 5’ 9.75” for Shrop. And holy smokes look at the 2.5” growth for Ian in the last 11 months.

August 12 - We’re picking up Ian from camp this weekend after four weeks. These pics just showed up in the camp feed today. We also got a letter that he swam across the entire lake with his friend because that’s where the paddle boards are and it’s the fastest way to them.

August 18 - Ian's stats from his endocrinology appointment on Tuesday

Age: 12 years, 9 months
Height: 5' 8.4"
Weight: 175 pounds
BP: 96/64
Pulse: 74
HbA1C: 6.7%
Percentage blood sugar in target range: 80%

This was after spending a month away from us at camp. The only complication he had was keeping his sensor attached the last week because he was spending so much time in the lake. The nurse resorted to "skin glue" for the last sensor to keep it on and he was not allowed in the lake for the last couple of days. Next year, we'll pack more badass adhesives.

I'll take a picture of him today. He looks older. The endocrinologist noted it, and he saw Ian four months ago. He's also more tan than I have ever been in my life. He must get that from Shrop. I told him we should take him to a tanning salon with leg warmers and opera gloves to even his tan out, but he's not on board with that plan.

August 28 - Shrop took Ian to the USAA parking lot for his first lesson in operating a car. I tagged along in the back seat and took a couple videos. Exciting stuff.
