going out PJs

On the Friday before Halloween, day care asked us to send our kid to school in pajamas so that they could be "dressed up" for the holiday. We don't actually own any pajamas for our kid, though. Ian just sleeps in a diaper (and usually whatever shirt he had on that evening unless it's filthy). And I didn't figure that would be a good outfit for school.

So in my sewing projects tonight I worked on a pair of PJ pants for Ian. This way he'll have something to wear to "pajama day" at day care. I doubt he'll ever sleep in them.

According to my mother I had very few PJs as a kid too but Mom found some on sale that were too cute to pass up. I would have a bath and get all dressed in them and then ride down to the ocean front with Daddy on the front of his bike to visit my Grandma. So they were going out PJs. I think that's what I just made for Ian too.

Big butt baby pants

I found a pattern online for "big butt baby pants" that works well for babies in cloth diapers. So I headed to Heather's house for a bit of a sewing circle and cut out several sets to try out. I only got around to cutting them out, but we'll see how they go hopefully by this weekend. I'm hopeful for several pairs of cheap cute pants that fit him well.

No fear

I think those top teeth are just starting to break through his gums and it's given us all some relief. We went to dinner after work and he was a joy. He ate everything in sight and then the clown lady came around. He was in my arms, idling gnawing on a piece of quesadilla and staring at her shape the balloons into various items. I think he was starting to make the couple next to us nervous.

The clown lady came over and asked if he wanted a balloon. She made him a sword and he proceeded to beat Rich in the head with it. His hair was a mess of static electricity! All of a sudden there was a loud pop as one of those razor sharp bottom teeth dug into the sword. Only part of the handle deflated, but Rich and I were spooked. Ian, however, was just frowning at the sword and not scared in the least.

The clown came back over and fixed his sword for him and we took it home. But we're all glad he's doing so much better. Nothing's gonna get him down now.
