Baby update from home with official stats

So yeah ... 49 hours of labor (26 of which at the hospital) and we have a beautiful baby boy (see attached). Ian Jacob Stryker 8lb 12oz 22" long born Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 6:14am

I was discharged on Saturday but they kept Ian an extra day to observe him. Since I'm his only food supply, though, I stayed in the "guest rooms" in the hospital so I could feed him in the nursery every three hours. We were all able to finally go home as a family on Sunday evening. There's a lot to be said for not having to take an elevator ride to feed one's son, so in many ways it's gotten easier at home.

Ian had his first pediatric appt yesterday and has already gone back up to a smidge past his birth weight, so that's all great. He's also getting a healthy coating of cat hair on him to christen his arrival.

Being discharged soon and picked a name

I just signed the paperwork for Ian Jacob Stryker's birth certificate. We all have to start practicing using his name to get used to it. :) We're being discharged soon and once the nursery has its rounds done, Ian will most likely be discharged as well. If not, we'll camp out so I can keep feeding him every three hours.

I'll keep you posted about where we are but for now we're hanging out in the hospital room.
