BillMonk (props to BoingBoing)

While cruising around on BoingBoing last night, I found a neat article about BillMonk. I thought it would be handy for my circle of friends as well as SCA folks. Basically, you can add your friends to it and use it to track who owes what to who. It works for both money (splitting up the cost of rattan, canvas, food, etc.) as well as loaning things out (Guiliana just loaned me her knitting socks book and I need to remember to return it sooner rather than later).

It's hard to experiment with it without any friends (who owe me something or gave me something). And I didn't want to force the Puddin' to join just so I could split a dinner bill with him last night. So join up and add me as a friend and then borrow something from me. Then let me know what you think!

R.I.P. Casey - the wonder borkita

Susan called yesterday to let us know they had to put Casey to sleep. He was 15 years old. I'm sad that he's gone, but I'm so happy and grateful that the Autumn Years of his life were spent with Frank and Susan getting all the love he deserved. Thank you both, for taking in an 11 year old, fat, farty, arthritic and eccentric border collie/akita mix and treating him like family. Casey was scared of cameras (and fire, and thunderstorms, and loud noises ... he was more like Frankenstein's dog), so it was hard to get good pictures of him. But I found one of him and me ten years ago. It's funny how we both look so young.

Genie and Casey on move-in day

I'm Just Sayin' #004: Don't Beat Up Strangers

It's been over a month, but we finally got another podcast uploaded. The big news is that we've agreed on a name - I'm Just Sayin'. I will eventually get a separate domain name and post the updates there but will add an RSS feed for your LiveJournal and other news reader convenience. This episode consists mostly of Genie bitching about all the stuff she bought in preparation for their trip to Vegas and how messed up women's sizes are. Following that is the epic saga of Rich finding a hockey team to play for this season now that he's moved. Somehow those two simple stories managed to last over 45 minutes (well, there are a few other things we talk about).

I'm a bit annoyed at the sound quality of this recording, but it's not horrible. I just need to work on some of the acoustics in the office. And mixing tracks after midnight is hard on a gal.

As in our last episode, the intro music is performed by the Clintons but we also have an official introduction by Kevin. Kevin did several recordings for us the other week, so he'll be showing up in future shows as well.

So with no further ado, we present:
